Wii price details
Today was the day that Nintendo released details concerning the price of the Nintendo Wii. Nintendo's press release states: "... will not exceed $250 in America, or ¥25,000 in Japan. " Retailers can expect to receive 6 million systems from the launch in the fourth quarter of the year of our Lord 2006 to March 31, 2007 (which is the end of their fiscal year). Nintendo projects an 18 percent growth in sales, and also expects to sell 17 million Wii games in the same period. Expect more news concerning the exact launch date, and the Virtual Console to be coming soon.
Nintendo had a similiar press release in regards to price before the Nintendo 64 was released. The Nintendo 64 was said to be released for under $250.00 US Dollars. Well it was released for $199.99 US Dollars. It is still entirely possible that the system will be released at an even lower cost than $250.00 US Dollars (and not by just a penny). {05/25/2006}
